Cholera And Its Symptoms And Preventive Measures

 The digestive tract is infected by this disease. There is an acute infection due to presence of bacteria called Vibrio cholera. If the feces of one infected person contaminate the food, water, any other edible things, cholera is transmitted to healthy persons if they take such contaminated things. Cholera had been a wide killer disease in developing world for many year before some decade ago. 













Symptoms Of Cholera 

  • The symptoms of cholera are seen suddenly with frequent diarrhoea and thirst.
  • Excessive nausea and vomiting.
  • The stool is passed with rice-water appearance.
  • Dehydration , hollow cheeks, and sunken eyes are observed due to excess loss of body fluid.




Preventive Measures Of Food And Water Borne Disease Including Cholera




  • Protect food items by keeping it safe from flies.
  • Cover it properly to prevent from contamination.
  • Drinking water should be safe from disease germs.
  • Adopt methods of purifying water from susceptible germs.
  • Develop habit of using toilet properly make family members aware of it.
  • Discourage any sorts of open defecation.
  • Hands ,nails,spoon, utensils, etc. Should be clean properly before meal.
  • Personal hygiene and its implementation should be given emphasis at home by all the family members.
  • Environmental sanitation prevents the germs to be spread.
  • Develop  a habit of using toilet.
  • Green vegetables should be washed with clean and safe water before use.
